Dear List if turning the rotor changes the effects of up and down flicks then isn't there a conflict with the actions menu which also uses up and down flicks? How does it know when you want delete etc or headings etc.In ee-mails I have read things like turn your rotor to paste, or make sure your rotor is on actions. I can't find actions or paste in my rotor. Is there another rotor other than the standard one. Also is it possible to vary what is at the top of your rotor by contexts, e.g. links at the top in webpages,typing mode at the top in text fields. I don't think this is possible but I just want to check before I put in a feature request to apple, as turning through lots of rotor options is a bit slow I want them all on there but it would be better if it could be better at predicting what options I might want based on where the voice over focus is.

Human engineering is tricky, since it often involves shaping or accounting for people's behavior without them being aware of it. I for one have gotten quite used to iOS 7. And things people complain about like the change in the now playing info have actually come in handy. The approach of trying to figure out why things have changed I think is far preferable to the assumption that something has gone wrong. Of course, Apple explaining all of these things would be even better; but as the incomplete accessibility implementation on things like iBooks in OSX 10.9 tends to suggest, components of OS development are likely working down to the wire and so that is just another thing that members of the accessibility team think would be nice to have, like being able to see more of their families or get a full night's sleep. Sorry for the rant, but I hate to think how often something someone thought about and worked hard on prompts people to write in and loudly and indignantly proclaim it's broken and demand a fix, rather than simply, and maybe even politely, report their difficulty and express their preference for how things used to be.
