It's status shuffle. It seems to be at about 70 percent and then all of a
sudden a message will come up saying that the app could not be downloaded
right now and the only 2 choices are done and retry. If I hit retry it gets
to about 79 percent and then repeats the same message.
I went to the app and tapped on it and I can't see a cancil option there
either.

Sometimes you can find the App icon on the HomeScreen for an app that is
hung up downloading, tap it, and it will finish downloading. I've done this
a number of times successfully.

Hello Jen,
Cancelling a download is very easy.
Simply return to the same location from where you initiated either the
install or update. For example, the button would have previously been
labeled Update or Download or Buy or Install.
Once the download process begins, this button will show the percentage of
the download in progress. Simply single-finger double-tap that percentage
button to cancel the process.
