Hi David,

Thanks for posting your findings and instructions. Because of your post, I
wound up using Maps yesterday to navigate a route. We were in Florida, not our
home territory. GPS Drive is my preferred app for route navigation. For some
reason, I could not get it to find the Tampa International Airport; I used Siri
as I generally do to input the address. It found St. Petersburg Clear Water, I
thought that might be different, but we were not sure. So when we got to what
we felt was an important turnoff. we abandoned that route. I then dictated my
string into Siri. It found the airport in question, and I was given the choice
to call or get directions. I chose the latter and Maps was launched. I found
the start navigation button, lower right corner of the screen and the route
navigation began. Each turn was spoken automatically in advance as I would
hope. I could also explore the screen to see how we were doing in terms of
distance to our next turn. That also worked well. Once we reached the
airport, as we had a rental car, we had to find a gas station to fill up before
returning the vehicle. Again, I used Apple Maps to finds the nearest station
after asking Siri where that would be. It took us to a station about 5 minutes
from the airport. Finally, I used Maps to return us to the airport, and it
worked great. This is my first experience with Apple Maps. I'd give it a
thumbs-up, an excellent app for the cost, which is free. HTH.
