Okay, now I got what you want to do so in order to test the text tone don't need to use the messages app and send yourself an iMessage via your email you were talking about so just make sure yourself is in your contacts in and then find yourself, type whatever you want to send to yourselves then lock the screen really fast so that you're able to hear the text tone
