Dear listers We had a car charger that fits into the cigarette lighter socket (probably called something less contentious these days) and it was chunky enough to make me think it had some sort of transformer in there. It is the old 30pin cable and thus doesn’t work with my 5S so I bought one that just has a USB socket on it so we can use whichever cable we like. It wasn't bought from an Apple store and it only cost £5.
This new charger is so tiny and light that it couldn’t possibly have a transformer inside it. My question is, is this a problem? Will it be safe to plug my phone in? I really don’t want to fry my phone but this was what they sold me and this shop has not let us down before. I just want to be sure before taking the plunge.
