Depends on what version of os you using and also what hardware you have. I found the similar issue with certain apps, Facebook in particular. It works for a minute or two, then it crashes. Sometime is the problem with VO itself, trying to catch up with the app, and sometime it crash totally. I also found that when you open the app , the app is refreshing the content, while voiceover still trying to read on where got highlighted on previous session. My observation is with ios7.4 and the latest facebook app, with vo and sight. The crashes usually happen with the ipad more so than the iphone.
