I don't know if the "imap weather radio" to which you are referring is the same as "weather radio". I have weather radio on my iPhones and it works wonderfully and gives me alerts for all kinds of weather. I also have "clear day" and "swacket" so I don't miss much. As I recall there was a podcast about the "weather radio" I am using or maybe something on Accessible World Tech Talk which is why I bought it.
