At least the developers of Fleksy put out a separate app and are updating that app, hwile they work on the main one. Let me count the ways of the number of companies that created an alternative solution, but then didn't update that alternative with new features, for example Gmail. Though I still use the Gmail basic web interface because it does what I need it to do and I can read and send email. In the end, who cares if I use Gmail, Microsoft Outlook, Windows Live Mail, or Thunderbird, as long as I am keeping up with my mail. I like the Gmail web interface because I get access to my mail from home, work, or via my iPhone. If someone chooses to use a different method of mail access, then that's their choice; I'm not going to put them down for that choice or the method they have chosen to use. I say all this to make comparisons with all the contraversy I saw on Twitter and heard through podcasts as a result of the Fleksy decision. Even if the Fleksy VO app remained separate, as long as it gets updates frequently I would be okay with that. Sure, it would be great to use the same app as sighted folk, but if Fleksy VO does what I need, what does it matter that I'm not using the main app?
