Daniel;
You are most certainly welcomed.
As far as you not being able to "draw some punctuation;" well, when you
think about it the only real difference between a comma and an apostrophe is
where these marks appear in context. I believe when Apple designed this
interface it was far too prohibitive to attempt to develop software that
might distinguish a mark drawn in a position relative to the rest of the
characters. Consider this, is the quotation mark really two apostrophes or
is it a quotation mark? I believe it was just too much to ask the software
to make that decision and still by no means error-proof.
Glad to have been of help!

Hi Bill, thank you very much for your detailed description of how you
accomplish additional punctuation symbols. When I red what you described it
certainly made sense. I don't know why I didn't think of it myself. lol
What I was trying to do was to actually draw the punctuation symbol itself
but what you said is grate for those including me can't quite write a
certain punctuation therefore using the gesture to find it and insert it in.
Thanks again! Off I go to mess around with it some more so I can get the
hang of it! :)

The way I use to insert a comma (,) or apostrophe (') while in
"handwriting" mode is as follows:
- execute the 3-finger flick down (or up) to move to the "Punctuation"
category
- execute a single 1-finger tap, this will present the period (.)
- now execute a 2-finger flick down, this initiates a list of punctuations
and the comma is the second after the period
- repeat the 2-finger flick down until you come to the apostrophe
Once you've come to the desired punctuation mark, execute the 3-finger
flick to get away from the punctuation category. As you have no doubt
discovered, while in this category all sorts of undesired marks can be
inserted into your note, message, e-mail or whatever edit field you're
working on.
Incidentally, it is feasible to enter in a sequence of marks, after you've
gotten to the mark you want for the first character simply draw another
mark and re-initiate the list feature if that mark isn't the desired one.
For example, to create a string of marks consisting of a comma, a period
and an apostrophe you would:
- execute a 1-finger tap to create the period
- then execute a 2-finger flick down to locate the comma
- now once again execute a 1-finger tap to create the desired period
- and once again execute a 1-finger tap to create a period
- then execute a series of 2-finger flicks down to locate the apostrophe
This should result in the series of punctuation marks: ",.'" And, of
course, if you want space between each mark, execute the 2-finger flick
right as appropriate.

Subject: learning how to dra the comer and an apostasy
Hi all, using the writing feature in iOS 7 I would like to know how one
can dra a comer and an apostasy. I feel like I can write my numbers more
confident on lower case letters and have some capitals but if I were to be
able to write these two punctuation symbols I'll be able to use this
feature more often than not when composing a message that requires text.
Unfortunatly, when I brought Do It Write the app didn't have punctuation
symbols which was a shame and if I were able to learn the two above
punctuations then I won't be braking my flow when I have to switch the
rotor to another option while I find the symbols button then find the
punctuation I need.
So if anyone knows how to draw the comer and the apostasy cane feel that
they can describe it in a message then I would be grateful if you can
share this knowledge.
Thanking you
Daniel
