You want to be sure you have the camera lined up over the hole in the top of the StandScan Pro. The home button should be going to your right if the open side of the standscan is facing you. You want to make sure the phone is lined up in a straight line. Just leave the phone lying on the box and gentley tap the take picture button. If no text is recognized, it could be that you have a blank page, or the print is not very clear. HTH,
