If you're seeing an archive option instead of delete or trash, then you want to go into Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars and select your account. Now select your account again and double tap the advanced button. Now you can go down and set move discarded messages into your deleted messages folder. Now you'll see the delete button at the bottom of each message and you can flick to the trash option in your in box. This is one of the reasons this question pops up so much on list.

This question pops up all the time. Just saying and will answer below.
To delete a message which can only be done one by one, focus to the
message and then do a one finger swipe up to trash. Then double tap.
Before you do the one finger swipe up make sure the rotor is on actions.
It usually is but if the command doesn't work then that might suggest
the rotor is on something other than actions.
Hope this helps.

Hi all, a somewhat silly question but how do I delete messages from
the iPhone using VoiceOver with ios 7 and mail? Also is it possible to
delete them all at once rather than one by one.
Thanks
Daniel
