Mike, You might ask T-Mobile about this, but my educated guess is no. Here's a story which leads me to think not.
I have a couple of friends who have been using T-Mobile for many years. They both have had older, basic phones with no internet. I recently helped them set up their new iPhones after they received them. Here's the interesting part. When both friends were looking at the phone app, they discovered that they had several voicemails. When they began deleting the messages, we found that they actually had a very long list of messages. I didn't go to the end of the list, but I did see that they had voicemails from over a year ago which they said they deleted long ago. This tells me that even after most people delete voicemails on basic phones it is still floating around out their because they may not have access to Visual Voicemail where they can more permantly delete them. It also makes me wonder if the message might still be lerking somewhere on the carrier's system even after having been deleted using Visual Voicemail. My guess is probably so. I think this is called visual voice mail. Is there a way to disable this? I couldn't find a setting on the iphone itself, I guess I could check the t-mobile web site. Basically I want it to work like most other phones, if I have a message, it can indicate this, but I would rather the phone not actually download the messages. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "VIPhone" Google Group.
