that is the object of the game, which is why it's called "word ladder". The
next entry is one letter off from the previous word. I think there are visual
representations of this game in which the word ladder is actually shown with
rungs, and I think it may be the case in this game. The title is a theme, which
helps you stay on a narrower focus for the words.
