Hi Alan. Thanks for that. But as the iPhone already comes with the high quality
voice, can I delete it. Or, is there another voice that is really high quality
that I don’t have from the normal updates I have done?

Thanks.

Neal

Hello my old friend Neal. First let me say it's nice to hear your voice again
even if it does sounds like everybody else's!

Ok on to business. The compact voice takes up far less space then does the
high quality voice by a goodly bit. If your hurting for storage space on your
device, then go with the compact voice and save a little disk space. On the
other hand, if you still have the room, then go with the high quality voice.
And, that's all subject to what your use to. Sense I got my iPhone 5s, I like
the high quality voice better but I also have the 64 GB 5s and so I have the
disk space. I hope this help some!

Well, this is very interesting. Here are two things I have discovered. Other
people’s ears may hear it differently. I am listening to the voice with a
professional set of headphones or, through professional speakers.

First, the compact voice is not as expressive as the normal voice. It’s pitch
changes for certain words is less noticeable, but it’s certainly not robotic.

But here is the real surprise. The actual voice sound, to my ears, is better on
the compact voice than it is on the regular voice. It is much smoother and less
fuzzy. I don’t hear this as much through the iPhone speaker, but I can
definitely hear it when connected to professional headphones or my professional
sound system in my recording studio.

Very nice improvement to the compact voice. Now here is my question.

What is the reason for the compact voice in the first place. By suggestion, it
would take less memory. Yes? No? If yes, I’m hoping I will notice it in the
overall performance of my iPhone, or is this too much to hope for?

Thanks much.

Neal
