I haven't used a Kindle, so I have no idea. However, I am almost certain Bookshare uses Kendra. I think she sounds too broken up - you can almost hear the individual recorded phonemes. She is not in VDR, by the way. That said, Bookshare may have switched voices in the year or so since I tried their audio book service.
