Yes I am unable to turn up the start and stop speaking sounds in 7.1 with out siri voices being way to loud.

For example, you could have her read a wikipedia article or you could dictate a text to someone, or define a word. While Siri is speaking to you adjust the volume via the volume up and down buttons to the volume you prefer.
