Hi, I'm running for S and the latest I OS. I too am experiencing battery drainage. This has coincided, precisely, with my upgrading the phone. I am sure it is a software issue. It may be affected by which apps one has on the phone. It might even be possible that just having certain apps, even if they are not running in the background or open in the apps switcher, may cause the phone to drain. I don't know. But I feel certain that it is not a hardware issue.
