Hi, The setting you want is under Settings>iTunes and App Store. Go down to the section with the heading, "Audomatic Downloads." Turn Updates off. The App Store updates tab should then function as it did in prior versions of iOS. Unless you had a backup of the app on your computer, it's unfortunately too late as far as I know.
