My iPhone touch ID is working perfectly. Try to add another fingerprint, even if it's the same finger and see if you can get it to work. Also, a tip that works really well for me, is not to hold my finger on the fingerprint scanner but just to hold it for about a second and then take my finger off, then it will unlock my phone. If I keep my finger on the home button and wait for it to unlock, it seems to have a lot of trouble.
