Some additional things. Assuming you are using iTunes with the side bar in
effect, arrow down through the various options to find your iphone, it will say
your iphone, followed by closed or open.If it says closed, right arrow to open
it. After opening it, the differences in what you see as you tab through the
many options are subtle, but one important one is in the backup section. Here
again, assuming you already have backed it up, using the encrypted backup, in
the past, when you get to where it says backup to this computer, you do not
have to check that box. Also, you do not have to enter your password. Right
after that is backup now. When you hit enter, it will use the same criteria
that you used the last time. It also will let you know if there are any new
apps on your device that are not backed up, and ask if you want to back them
up. If you back it up in this manner, it goes much faster, being that it is
only backing up what it needs to back up, comparing your device now to when it
was previously backed up, rather than having to back up the whole device again.

  Hi Lori,

I don't know for sure if I could do it differently but I prefer to do 2
backups. I check the box to backup to iCloud and let it do that. Once that is
done, I do another backup and check the box that says, back up to this computer
and select to do an encrypted backup. It asks me for my password or to create
one if it's the first time and let it do that backup. It doesn't take long to
do either and I feel more comfortable to do it that way. You will notice anyway
that Checking backup to this computer will uncheck the backup to iCloud so I
have to assume you have to do it in two steps.

If anyone has any better ideas, please jump in and share them.

Subject: Backing my iPhone up to iTunes and iCloud

Okay,I have my iPohone plugged into my my computer. I went to sources and
found my iPhone and where it says back ups. When I'm going down through
what's there under back ups what items should I be checking to make sure it
will back up to iTunes? Also, do I also need to check iCloud off because I'm
backing up to iTunes and to i Cloud? Also what items do I need to check off if
any to make sure all the items will be back up in iCloud?

Also do I check off to automadically back up or do I check off wy fy if I
want to back up by wy ?

I want to make sure I'm doing this right the first time around. Any help
would be very much appreciated. Thanks.
