Then your friend would be best off with a battery charger that lets her use her sync/data cable. The chargers use a USB port. As an example, I have an 1800 mAh battery charger. It has a swing out wall prongs that goes in the wall outlet. There are 2 USB ports. All she would do would be to plug her sync/data cable in to her iPhone and the other end into the charger and press the power button to start recharging. An 1800 mAh battery will recharge a dead iPhone 1 time. The 2 USB ports let you recharge 2 devices at once but of course charging then is slower.
These kinds of chargers come in all kinds of flavors depending on how many devices you want to recharge and how much capacity you need.
