Though promising, this technology seems to have the potential of signaling the iDevice to the point of completely draining one's battery. That is, constant requests from every iBeakon one walks past can potentially become very annoying. <Smile>. Of course the solution would be to disable the feature, but what about the times you want it on? One would have to constantly turn this feature on and off much like Wi-Fi at public places etc.
What about the information exchange when one's iDevice receives the signal and the user "okays" the prompt to have content delivered? This seems like a potential security risk depending on who has access to the iBeacon code; I'm thinking additional spamware added with the iBeacon signal and screen messages. Hopefully someone will correct for all this, and hopefully the technique will deliver what many visually impaired and blind users are anticipating it will deliver. <Smile>.
