Hi Joseph,
While you can use vertical  navigation to go down a column, when you flick left 
or right between columns, you don't hear the column header, so as long as you 
know what column a, b c etc are, then it should work well enough for reading 
information.
I've not been very successful in creating spreadsheets on my iPhone, but I have 
not spent a ton of time with it either.
Maybe someone out there has figured out how to create sheets and will chime in.
Oddly enough, if you turn the rotor to rows, it doesn't work, but vertical 
navigation does.
