Regarding great weather apps, try this one below as it is very accessible.
It will show you the current weather at your location, but what I feel is
it's greatest strength is that one can add new cities then use a three
finger swipe to the right or left to move back and forth between cities of
interest. I like entering only the cities for which I want to read weather
since I will not have to skip through unwanted information for other cities.
The app also continuously updates itself so you will always have current
weather on the first line of the screen. Like most weather apps, exact
measurement of current weather will vary due to many variables. This app is
only $1, so well worth the cost even if you don't end up liking it.

Hi, John. I was looking in the app store for WX Alert and found one for
MInnasota, one which says KS, OK and SD, but nothing that seems to cover the
whole country. Any thoughts. I live in Ohio, but sometimes go other
places, so a nationwide alert app would be good. I have storm shield which
works for some, but not all, cities I go to. Thanks in advance.

WX Alert is a good app for this purpose assuming you are in the U.S.
