Well, I decided to hook the old IPhone up to ITunes and sync the apps and then did another encrypted back. I then hooked up the new IPhone to ITunes and did a restore from backup and everything is now fine. I only had to log into 1 of my apps. Thank you very much for putting the idea of syncing the apps in my head. I just assumed that since I had synced them before that I didn't need to do it again. If you didn't then iTunes wouldn't have a record as to which apps you had and how you had arranged them with respect to folders and homescreen layout. I did the encrypted backup because it was said on this list that it would save my passwords so that I didn't have to relog in to apps for which I have a subscription or need to log in with a password. Did I misunderstand something? I assumed that my apps would be downloaded to my phone. Do I need to go into purchased apps and redownload them individually and then the benefits of the encrypted backup will be realized in terms of not having to log into those apps with my passwords?
