I tried out a loaner Apex a while back and for the life of me I could not ever get much less keep it connected via bluetooth. This was with my 4S at the time. I ended up passing on buying it and instead got myself an iPad and Brailliant BI instead. Good luck with the Apex. All I know is that my experience was anything but pleasant.

Nothing changed except the Keysoft version, so I have to think it's something Humanware did. Of course, a newer iOS device is probably what HW will tell you you need, but I tend to think that's not the case. I can't offer any specific advice on fixing it, unfortunately, but I can say that you aren't alone. This is just one of the great many reasons I've given up on Humanware's notetakers altogether.
