I was wondering if this was a common occurrence and if there were other
things besides taking off the auto lock and checking the battery level that
I can do to hopefully avert this situation. The suggestion to make sure
that not too many apps are running at the same time seems helpful. From
checking various other sites, it seems that this sometimes happens with the
iphone and ipad and since my ipad is very recently purchased, it does not
seem to be enough of a defect to exchange the unit. Michelle
