Hi Rob, that's why I recommend the OtterBox commuter series I do not have this problem at all. I'm able to touch the top of the phone and it's able to stay off the speaker for a brief amount of time. Yeah I was there to make a button to but unfortunately they don't have one. There is one, but I don't know how well it works when you hit it. You pretty much have to hide the keypad in Waterford to work.
