Hi Alex and others.

I'm thinking about going with keychain.

Alex, I'm not sure what you mean by "all my passwords and card data would be
nine." Maybe a misprint. Can you please clarify?

Others who use Keychain, can you please comment on how you like it, and comment
upon its accessibility and usability?

Many thanks. Keith

Subject: Re: The iCloud Keychain, I Think I'm Beginning to Like It

I have to say that iCloud syncing is a major reason I have gone all Apple. I
don't trust iCloud Keychain, only because then all my passwords and card data
would be nine, but that is a personal choice and not anything against Apple. I
recently had to switch to a Macbook Air instead of my Mac Mini, since the
Mini's hard drive was failing. I logged into iCloud, and all my reminders,
contacts, internet bookmarks, and more were automatically downloaded. Between
that and Dropbox for files, I've never had such a painless switch to a
different computer. I love not having to worry; if this Air had to be
completely wiped and set up as new, or if I lost it and had to replace it,
getting my data back is just a password away.

Hello All,

I am the proud new owner of a MacBook Pro with Retina Display.

One of my greatest concerns, being a Windows user, was the difficulty I
would encounter transferring the contents including passwords and system
preferences from my old MacBook to the new one.

Now I have used the Migration Assistant in the past, when assisting friends,
but not without some minor problems said problems including duplicated user
account errors, etc.

Before purchasing the new Mac, I decided to configure and enable the
keychain on both my iPhone and my old Mac.

I would be lying if I stated that I totally understand all of the nuances of
the keychain but, somewhere along the line I must have enabled security
authorization from my iPhone.

As a result, during the setup process on the new Mac, I was asked to enter
my iCloud keychain security code. Upon doing this, I was sent a
verification code via SMS to my iPhone. Upon entering this verification
code into the new Mac, everything, and I mean everything was configured as
it was on the old Mac.

The migration was flawless and, unlike on my beloved Microsoft Windows,
painless as well.
