Hi Arnold, Perhaps I am being as paranoid as you are but I wouldn't do it. If the charger was not designed for that battery, we know that fast charging causes overheating and, I fear, would certainly damage the battery in the short or medium term.

Granted, the iPad charger is normally used to charge a much larger tablet than the iPhone, but it sounds like it could work.
