There might be a short window where you might be able to downgrade an
existing device which you upgraded. But a restore would not do it, you would
have to download the complete .IPSW file (the iOS software Update file) from
a place like www.IPSWDownloader.com <http://www.IPSWDownloader.com> .
However, if you buy a new phone like a 6 or 6 Plus there is no way you could
downgrade it and in any case, even if you update a 5 or 5S on Wednesday and
decide on Friday you want to go back to iOS 7 it might not be possible.

If you don't want to deal with the bugs I highly recommend you wait at least
a week or 2 and read what is reported and then you can decide whether the
issues are things you can live with or not.

Subject: downgrading from IOS 8

Hi, all. Just a curiosity question. If I back up my IPhone 4S running IOS
7.1.2 to ITunes and then order the IPhone 6 or 6 plus, Could I do a restore
from ITunes back to IOS 7.1.2 if I find IOS 8 too buggy? Just wondering.
Thanks.

God bless!

Paula and Babe
