I'll tell you what I've been doing, apart from guessing that all proportions of size and aspect ratios are common to all these devices.
The size is a diagonal, I'd also presume a proportional wastage top and bottom that isn't screen. So, the iMini is meant to be a 7inch, maybe a tad bigger. So I stretch fingers diagonally from corner to corner of that for a scale, then reduce that distence by the inch&half, and then feel the residual size within my finger spread. That makes the 6+ about the size of a journalists note pad, and remember, they hold these in the flat of their hand and scribble on it for a living. Or they did do, that size evolved for efficiency to do the job. I can't find a piece of paper to play with, and aspect ratio would be different; so don't know if that comes out at A6 or A7; US has their own and different paper sizes mind; but it's a reasonable guide, for sure bigger, but not massive, more comfortable than the Mini for holding, though putting it to ear would be something else. Don't see that as a big issue really, either. I like the feel of the size, so would still go for the 6+, funds or whatever, willing. More I think about it, the more i like the jotter analogy.
