A bluetooth headset does not actually use Airplay even though it shows up as a device in the Airplay menu. True Airplay devices work even if bluetooth is turned off.

It seems like it took a little longer to see the airport express, but once it did, VoiceOver stayed on the device and audio went to the express and into my stereo. Did the iPod Touch work correctly before iOS 8? If so, that sounds very much like another bug. However, another reboot of the iPod Touch Fifth Gen still sends Voiceover to the Airplay device which really is not good. The Voiceover sounds and other click and systems sounds play on the device so I assume this is definitely a bug. I will have to write to [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> about this. As I said, maybe whoever has an Airplay device can do some checking especially if you own multiple devices such as an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.
