If this is happening on an iPod Touch and a 5C but not the 5S I wonder if it
has to do with the 64 Bit processor. Maybe somebody else who has a 5S or an
iPad Air or iPad Mini Retina could try this to see if they work correctly. Same
would go for anybody with a 4S, 5 or another 5C.

I can reproduce this whenever I stream content from my iPhone 5C to my Apple
TV. It's definitely a bug.

Hello,

I was quite shocked when I just wanted to send an Audible book to my Airport
Express which is connected to my Sonos system. I was using my wife’s iPod Touch
and at first Airplay was not even an option in Control Centre. It also appears
that Audible has finally followed Apple’s lead and taken it out of the app
which means the only way to activate Airplay is via the Control Centre.

So, I rebooted the iPod Touch Fifth Gen which I recently upgraded to iOS 8.0.2
and then Airplay was there. I selected Sonos and was shocked to find that
Voiceover was sent to Sonos along wit hthe stream from Audible.

This was definitely not the case before the iOS 8.0.2 upgrade and if Apple has
indeed messed this up we are back to where we were when Airplay was first
introduced which I think was in iOS 5. Just as it was back then the reaction
time between swiping or touching something and it being announced via Airplay
is about 4 seconds… absolutely terrible.

I have been trying to play something via Airplay on my iPhone 5S, but can’t
even get the Airplay option to show up in Control Centre.

OK, now I did another reboot of my iPhone and was able to select Airplay and
with great relief I am finding that Voiceover remains on the device and is
responsive. However, another reboot of the iPod Touch Fifth Gen still sends
Voiceover to the Airplay device which really is not good. The Voiceover sounds
and other click and systems sounds play on the device so I assume this is
definitely a bug.

I will have to write to accessibil...@apple.com
<mailto:accessibil...@apple.com> about this.

As I said, maybe whoever has an Airplay device can do some checking especially
if you own multiple devices such as an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.

Regards,

Sieghard
