Good evening all especially Ioana and Misty.

I have an iPhone 4S and I just upgraded to the latest iOS on Sunday of this
week.

The upgrade went smoothly however I did initially have some issues with text
input applications, I.E., sending texts, entering contacts into the phone app,
editing existing contacts, Etc.

I did solve the problem.

It appears, for me at least, the problem where I could not edit contacts, send
texts, etc, was related to the fact that the iPhone typing mode reset itself
back to its default setting during the iOS upgrade so now you have to double
tap every letter etc until you go back into the router and reset the typing
mode back to whatever setting you were using under iOS 7.

I was able to reset it back to touch typing and now it works beautifully.

Before I fixed the typing mode issue if I opened a text to a contact send was
not visible because the message body was blank so I could not flick over to it,
now that I have fixed the typing mode everything works as it did before, I also
sent a test text message from my iPhone 4S to my Samsung Galaxy Ace II and the
text reached its destination.

If I can be of any assistance to anyone else having issues with their 4S
following the iOS upgrade please let me know.

Cheers, Ed.

Subject: Re: Workarounds for Sending Text Messages with IOS 8?

Only way I found is to locate the 'send" button and keep your finger there to
mark the spot and then turn off voiceover and try tapping on that button. It is
a bit of guess work but the swish will confirm to you if it worked. THen you
can turn vo back on.

Best,

Hi all,

Has anyone found a workaround to activate the send button in a text message? I
have an IPhone 4S and IOS 8.0.2, and I am trying to send an important message
to a friend, but it will not send! I tried swiping to it and then
double-tapping it, and I also found the send button without swiping to it and
double-tapped it, but nothing is working. Any advice would be greatly
appreciated.

Thank you,

Misty
