I don't need any new clothes, don't need new shoes. My iPhone 5s with 64 GB
will be a year old on the 20ith so I don't need a new phone. I got my iPad
Air in January of this year as a Christmas gift from my wife so I can't
can't think of anything I need or want.

Alan

I love gift cards too and that's what I would ask for if I don't need or
want anything. It's the thought that counts and I can treat myself in
the digital shop as it were.

Then you buy them an iTunes gift card. Personally, I love them. My
family members gave me $75 in iTunes gift cards for my birthday and
Christmas. Once you enter them in to your account, they are really handy.
You see an app you want, hit the buy button and your store credit gets
tapped. You still get a receipt showing the amount the object was, be
that a song, an album, a book or an app or even a movie or TV show. In
fact, we had this conversation just last night. My wife asked me the old
question, what do you want for Christmas. There is nothing I really need
or want but an iTunes gift card is always welcome.

The concept seems strange to me. Let's say that I bought an app 2 or
more years ago using my card. Can the person I am sharing with get this
app onto his or her phone at no charge?
What if I want to buy them an app for Christmas without their
knowledge?

Chris,
Family sharing is so you can see the purchases of another family
member and he/she can see yours. You have to add one first. It will all be
on one credit card. You will be able to download each other's apps and
music for free. I guess there is also a calendar that you can share.
