This was my original thought when Family Sharing was introduced. I guess I can 
understand the not seeing other people's purchases, but if I'm going to be 
paying for it anyway... 
That and this way, there aren't issues with in app purchases that may need to 
be bought repeatedly.

Hi there the kind of set up you have is basically what I have done with my 
children. My own Apple ID is what has been used to purchase apps. So for all 
intents and purposes, their devices are my devices. They have their own Apple 
IDs for things like iCloud face time and messages so that those will be 
individual to them. Because of doing it like this for many years, this new 
family and friends sharing feature of iOS 8 is nothing really new to me. I 
don't see what the difference is when compared to what people are already doing 
like what I described and like what you described.
