Hi Brian That " moronic guy in QA at Apple who screwed up Apple maps" was Scott Forstall. He worked with Steve Jobbs since the 90's when Steve Jobbs owned NEXT, then came with Steve to Apple and Scott was the leading software enginner for the iPhone and iPad from when the iPhone was first released in 2007 until 2012. He can't be in charge of testing since he was let go by Tim Cook after the initial flop Apple Maps turned out to be although I am sure it wasn't his fault alone and by himself. From what Iread Scott was and probably is somebody who is more like Steve Jobbs than anybody else, but who doesn't necessarily gets along with others that well.
Goes to show that not everything one reads online is true, but the fact that Scott Forstall hasn't worked for Apple in almost 2 years is definitely true. I also have had an awful time of using the two finger tap in a text field to get dictation to work. In IOS 8.0.2 more often than not doing so does absolutely nothing. If I put my finger on the screen it will tell me it is listening but if I dictate it does nothing. Overall my experience with IOS 8 has been terrible and I always do expect some bugginess but this is ridiculous. I did read that the moronic guy in QA at Apple who screwed up Apple maps was actually the guy in charge for IOS 8 testing which tells me it must be hard to get fired from Apple. considering that I have come to really rely on Apple as I have been using VoiceOver since my 3S and this is the first time I have had severe issues. If Apple ever does fix VoiceOVer and get it back to working like I had it in IOS 7 I will not be updating unless I hear in the future of a pretty positive user experience. To say I have learned my lesson is an understatement.
