Same here with my iPhone 6 plus, just checked calling my home
phone and kept the phone to my ear, but couldn't disconnect the
call by hitting the power button either once or twice. Although
I've normally just been finding the end call button, even if it
sometimes takes a bit longer.

Actually, I know the book says that you press the power button
twice, but in my experience (I only started hanging up this way
recently) it was always one time on my iPhone 5 and 5S. Also
remember that this only works when the phone is up to your ear.
I can confirm that on my 6+ this doesn't work; I cannot hang up
by pressing the power button. This isn't an iOS8 issue; it
appears to be something to do with the difference in the phones.
. I am sure of this because the pressing of the power button
still works for me on my 5S which is also running iOS8.
