I am still running 7.1.2, so I can't test my theory. When I listened to a
podcast demonstration of this back button issue, I wondered if the following
might work. When you hit the back button and the resulting page is not
readable, I understand that it is a VoiceOver issue, it is readable on the
screen. So, what happens if you turn VoiceOver off, then back on. Is it
readable? Or, what happens if you close Safari without closing the unreadable
page, then reopen Safari. It should open on the page that VoiceOver wouldn't
read. Is it readable now? I admit that either of these solutions are way more
trouble than they should be, but if it makes it readable, until they fix it,
maybe it is the only way.

Subject: IOS 8.1: Safari and the Back Button

This problem still persists in IOS 8.1, where pressing the back button while
on a web page results in a page displayed that is simply not navigable.
