iOS8.1 fixed most of the critical problems, though users still report that braille displays are slower and braille isn't displaying correctly as they type. The biggest problem I've seen, aside from the focus issue (which doesn't normally bother me) is in Safari. If you go back a page, flicking and rotor navigation will both fail. You can touch the page directly, but that's it. I also find Safari sometimes locking up my phone, which is rare, but does happen (though to be fair, this happened in iOS7 too, and I haven't heard anyone else mention it). Siri also has odd problems, some from the lock screen and some globally. It is useable, but you have to touch the screen more often now, and commands subsequent to your first or second will normally fail, as though Siri didn't hear what you said.
All that said, the updates are wonderful. Replying to a text right from the lock screen is handy, the braille input available across the entire operating system is amazing, the new widgets and notifications in the Notification center are great, and you'll have even more advantages if you have a device with Touch ID and/or if you use a Mac running Yosemite. > On Oct 23, 2014, at 10:57 AM, Teresa Cochran <[email protected]> wrote: > > The only really ugly thing that rears its head is the focus bug.
