For me the biggest bug in IOS 8.0 was VoiceOver and other apps crashing frequently. This has been resolved in IOS 8.1. In addition to the other bugs being mentioned I still have the following significant bugs in 8.1: * Similar to a bug that I saw with the early 7.0 releases, VoiceOver wakes up and starts chattering at me when a notification comes in even when I have the mute switch on. I'm in quite a few meetings, I need my phone on but silent in those meetings and this bug is particularly annoying. * When reading an email message with the native mail client, touching the delete button above the home button doesn't always give focus to that button. I've gotten into the habit of swiping back and forth to make sure this button really has the focus. Note this is also true for all of the buttons in the mail app, such as previous and next message. * I'm also experiencing some of the other notification bugs people have reported. Obviously, whether you consider these bugs, or the focus bug, to be critical or not depends on how you use your iPhone. I'd suggest reviewing the features and outstanding issues in IOS 8.1, I assume AppleVis.com has a good article on this, and deciding whether IOS 8.1 is ready for you to upgrade to it or not.

The bug with attachments is part of the larger focus problem that
persists in 8.1. Use three-finger scrolling to get down to the part of
the message with the attachment, so that you cn touch (instead of flick
to) the attachment. Now, double tapping should work as expected.

Hello,
Another bug that I have seen from my experience is being able to open
a Word attachment in the mail app with VoiceOver.
When one opens the email and double taps on the attachment, nothing
seems to occur. Simlarly, when one double taps and holds to receive
the open in dialogue, it is not received.
I mentioned it on here to see whether there was a setting that I was
missing, but have not received any replies on this so far.

I always wait awhile before I upgrade when a new version comes out for
the iphone. I think it is time to go for it. Are there any
compelling reasons why I should wait?
