Hi, Candy, When you use an external keyboard, there's a mode called QuickNav. This is the mode that lets you use the arrow keys on the keyboard to work the rotor. There is a bug in iOS8 that requires you to turn this mode off once you enter an edit field. You do this by pressing both side-arrow keys on the hardware keyboard until you hear "QuickNav off." At this point, you can begin typing.
