  As far as the picker not working, have you sried  to enter your credit card 
info through settings, iTunes/Apple ID? With my restore from recent Mac backup, 
my credit info transferred over. Just a thought. 

  And it's a good one.  I did in fact go into iTunes and App Store under 
Settings; that's where I ran into trouble.  However, just a short while ago, I 
discovered that if I located the picker item and did a double-tap-and-hold, I 
was then able to manipulate the picker item using a single-finger flick down or 
flick up.  It took a couple of attempts, but I managed to do this with both the 
month and year pickers and the problem is now solved. I suspect that this is 
not normal, but I'll use that approach whenever I encounter picker items that 
act like that. If it is normal, than the VoiceOver hint needs to be changed to 
reflect this new behavior.
