Ariadne can still point you at your destination giving clockface direction, or compass if you like, and distence. I do not know how well Ariadne works when you are off the map. I love Ariadne GPS for this task. You can add any place as a point of interest and then Ariadne will tell you the distance and direction to that point of interest. If your route is complex, you can always add additional POIs along your route to remind you where to turn. You can also add POIs to Blind Square but it’s a bit more complicated. Also, since Ariadne does not use any maps, it doesn’t matter if you have a data or network connection.
