Ten minutes is quite good, I usually find it takes fifteen or so. Whenever you update, just wait for VoiceOver to come back. It will come back eventually, and if it doesn't after an hour or ore, then you can start to worry. A minor update like this one was pretty fast; a major one, like 8.0, would have taken even longer, most likely.
