I knew I had gotten used to my Apple Earpods when I was listening to
music with a pair of regular headphones, went to adjust the volume,
and remembered that the headphones were not the EarPods. When I got my
first iPhone several years ago, I threw the earbuds away, not knowing
what they were and not caring. Then about 6 months later I realized
what I had done and was sorry. I got a pair of new EarPods with my
recent iPhone 6 purchase, and have put them in a drawer for when the
current ones bite the dutst. It doesn't happen very often, but I've
had to make the trip to an Apple Store at least once to get a
replacement before.
