I've heard others talk about lag time with a Bluetooth ear peace. I have
never experienced this with my Plantronics Voyager Legend. Hey, I don't
often get that lucky either. Usually if it can go wrong, it usually does go
wrong and usually for me. <grin>

There are good bluetooth headsets both single earpieces and stereo headsets.
However, you will not find a bluetooth headset which will not have a slight
lag and the audio quality will not be as good as that of a wired headset. Of
course this all depends on your standard and that of the caller on the other
end. If you get too much of your body between the headset and your phone you
may experience drop-outs.

Ok so earpods are wired, thanks for that info too. are others using
wireless ones with remotes that they like? My only reason for asking is
I often use my braille display with my phone so I have the phone in my
purse or what not and may want to listen, but I myself notice that
wireless headsets of any kind seem inferior to me. I have never used a
bluetooth setup to take calls, but if the cutting out I got from really
expensive wireless headphones is any indication, it might be a
nightmare. I do have head motion problems, and I wonder if this affects
the bluetooth or wireless sensor.

I'll echo Sieghard's comments about the Apple earpods. I also have an

they sound much better than bluetooth devices I've used and I find the
remote and volume buttons very convenient when listening to books while
I'm
moving about. The remote button gives me access to play and stop and move
backward and forward without having to access the touch screen which is
most
convenient when walking. I also think the sound quality is quite good.

Hi Eden,
You'll get mixed answers here because ear buds or headsets are one of
these
things which are a very personal item. Some people hate the Apple Ear pods
whereas I like them a lot. There is of course a difference when it comes
to
what you want to use them for. If you want a high-end music listening
experience then no ear buds will live up to a $200 or $300 full headset
with
full ear cups. But for making phone calls, listening to spoken audio or
GPS
information, I find that the Apple Ear pods work best for me. I have also
heard people saying they don't like them because they are too big for
their
ears and don't stay in and once again that is not a problem for me. In
fact,
if I put them in correctly I can turn my head to the side and shake it
like
a dog and they won't come out. I also like the fact that I can just put in
the right side a bit which gives me access to the remote control for
picking
up phone calls, playing/pausing audio or for use with Blindsquare and they
block out very little external sound which is good when I am walking and
have to listen to traffic. A lot of higher-end ear buds have foam to block
out as much sound from the outside as possible so you can hear better
whatever it is you are listening to, but of course for most blind people
that is not very desirable.

Sieghard

I need earpods for my IPhone, what are the best ones? I have a 5. Are the
Apple ones the best ones to use with your phone or do others work as well?
