Because it's free.

Not everyone has the funds with which to purchase Voice Dream Reader.Granted, DropBox is free, but the native music player does so much more thanDropBox.

In any case, I didn't think my comment would generate so much opinionagainst the native music app.

I still use it, and it seems fine to me, and only use Voice Dream Reader toread PDF and other document formats.

I understand where you’re coming from, but ever since I learned to change
the Meta tag information, stuff like that simply hasn’t happened, and you
can change that sort of information too, simply by utilizing that same Get
Info dialog box, and, of course, making sure that the shuffle feature isn’t
on in your music player.

Just thought I’d offer an alternative.

Hi.

I have chosen to use a third party app to play audio books because I
frequently found audio books that had the attributes changed and played
through the music player wouldn’t always play in the correct order.  I found
that I had to use something like audio book binder or builder or mp3 to iPod
converter to make the audio book in to a long file.  Now I can simply zip up
my file and import it in to voice dream reader.  Much less time consuming
and every book I have tried so far plays in order.

booting Windows.  I should also mention that from that point on, the files
will be located under books in your media library, they will no longer be
kept with the rest of your music, that is, unless you have auto sorting set
to off.

limit. That means that as long as I am connected to my WiFi at home or at
work my cellular data is not being used and while I think there is a limit
to how much data I can use on my ADSL, it is so high that it's never been an

 . I don't know what arrangement you have. WiFi can also use cellular data
if you are using some sort of hot spot or smarthub, but like I said, that is
something you probably know. When you say you have "WiFi which allows me to

you are using cellular data for everything.

 Apps. Now tab or use F6 until you get to file sharing. Here you will find

   When you impoort mp3 files into iTunes, it assumes they are music. So,
   depending on how the files are tagged, you may find them under artist,
   title, unknown, etc. in the music folder.
   With iTunes 12, I find this whole process a bit more challenging than it
   was before.
   You can search for the book in the music library, then if your search
   gets
   you all the files, you can right click and select get info. You will

   need to change the "kind" from music to audio book.
   You will also have choices of skip when shuffling, remember your place,
   which you want if it is a book.
   If the files are not tagged correctly, you may find chapters out of
   order.
   Remember, iTunes does not care what the file names are, it sorts only by

   internal tagging.
   I believe folks on this list have recommended software that can make the
   tagging and all that much easier, but I don't recall what the name was.
   Personally, if I want to listen to an audio book that is in mp3 format,
   I
   now use VoiceDream Reader.
   With VoiceDream, you simply need to make sure the files are named in
   such
   a way that they will be sorted in order, add them all to a zip file with
   the
   zip filename the name of the book. Add the zip file to dropbox, and use
   VoiceDream to import the zip file.
   When it is done, you will have a book that is named whatever the zip
   file
   was named, and each file will be treated as a chapter in the book.
   It works fabulously.
