Welcome to the club. I would like the clicking sounds lower also but
haven't been able to do it since they brought them in. I guess the short
answer is no way

through apps on my home screen etc. I can change the volume of VoiceOver,
but this doesn't seem to effect the volume of the clicking sounds. I can
turn off sound effects, but I would like to have the sounds, just at a lower

If you mean the clicking sounds when you use the virtual keyboard, I've
noticed the same but with the lock sound. It seems like even if I have
VoiceOver set to a lower volume, the clicking sounds and the screen lock
sound tend to be louder in iOS 8. I've noticed this at least since iOS 8.1.
